Vallejo's community access television programming may soon see a boost in cash to buy new equipment, following a Vallejo City Council vote Tuesday. The council unanimously voted to update city law regarding revenue coming from cable companies that serve Vallejo residents, over fears that those costs would be passed on to consumers. Senior citizen Bill Haynes said it seemed inevitable that Vallejo customers will see yet another hike in their bills.

A resolution to accept a $1.3 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration passed without a great deal of discussion at Tuesday night's Conway City Council meeting. The bulk of the money will be used to buy property in the Lollie Bottoms area needed for the planned new airport. Mayor Tab Townsell said one property owner has agreed on a per-acre price for their land and told the council he hoped this negotiated price would also be agreed upon by the remaining property owners.

Dave Tulak of Taylor won his first National Senior Bowling Association tournament with a 224-215 victory over Rick Vittone of Canada at Superbowl Lanes in Canton. Tulak finished second in the previous NSBA event, and it was only a matter of time before he broke through. After qualifying second, he beat Albert Amella III of Macomb, 237-209, William Manley Jr. of Detroit, 244-223, and John Watkins of Canton, 277-207, to advance to the championship match.
